El bebé nació el lunes

El bebe de los duques de Sussex se llama Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, anunció la pareja este jueves en su cuenta de Instagram.

Ambos han colgado, además, una fotografía en blanco y negro del momento en que la reina Isabel II y su esposo Felipe, duque de Edimburgo, conocen personalmente a su octavo bisnieto y septimo en la línea de sucesión al trono, nacido el 6 de mayo.

‘Esta tarde Sus Altezas Reales han presentado a la Reina a su octavo bisnieto en el castillo de Windsor’, en el oeste de Londres, según el mensaje adjunto, donde se constata que el duque de Edimburgo y la madre de Meghan, Doria Ragland, ‘tambien estuvieron presentes en esta ocasión especial’.

Con este anuncio se acaban las especulaciones sobre cómo se llamaría el pequeño y se confirma que la pareja ha optado por nombres modernos, un tanto alejados de la tradición real y algo inspirados en Estados Unidos.

En la imagen puede verse cómo la duquesa, con el bebe en brazos, muestra el recien nacido a la soberana y al duque, que está un poco por detrás, junto al príncipe Enrique, que tambien admira emocionado a su pequeño.

A la derecha de la exactriz estadounidense, de 37 años, está su madre, con el pelo recogido, gafas y envuelta en un chal, mientras que la soberana, de 93 años, luce una cómoda rebeca y falda de cuadros.

Tanto Isabel II como el duque, que viste de traje, al igual que su nieto Enrique, sonríen al ver al bebe, que fue previamente presentado a la prensa esta mañana.

Meghan, con el pelo largo suelto y cariñosa sonrisa, lleva el mismo vestido blanco sin mangas con lazo sobre la cintura que lucía cuando hace unas horas compareció con su esposo para mostrar el niño a un reducido número de periodistas.

En ese momento, la exactriz calificó de ‘mágico’ y ‘asombroso’ a su bebe, que estaba dormido, envuelto en una mantilla blanca con un gorro de punto y en brazos de su padre.

‘Es fantástico. Ser padre es increíble. Apenas han sido dos días y medio, tres días, pero estamos tan contentos de tener nuestra pequeña autentica alegría’, dijo Enrique.

El niño, que pesó 3.3 kilos al nacer, es el septimo en la línea de sucesión al trono británico, despues de su padre; de sus primos, Jorge, Carlota y Luis; de su tío, el príncipe Guillermo, y su abuelo, el príncipe de Gales.
