After hurricane Maria
Three Sam’s Club stores located in Puerto Rico will be closed, after the company, affiliated to Walmart, chose to refocus their finances.
NotiCel learned that the stores that would be closing are located on Humacao, Barceloneta and Rexville.
The Humacao store is located on a mall strip that was heavily damaged by hurricane Maria.
NotiCel learned that the reasons for the closures are related to performance.
The company would offer transfer to the employees that are located on this stores to other locations in Puerto Rico and / or the United States
NotiCel reached out the company for specific date, but as this moment they didn’t provide specific timetable on the closure.
This is not the first store closure that Sam’s Club has made on Puerto Rico. Last year the company closed a club located on the Colobos Mall in Carolina.
Sam’s Club has operated on Puerto Rico since 1993 and has nine locations on the island.
