A beacon of strength for PR at San Juan entrance
Last weekend, photos started making the rounds in social media of a Puerto Rican flag, along
with the word FUERZA ('strength'), adorning the Caribe Office Building, right at the entrance
between Puerta de Tierra and Old San Juan.
The building, which houses SOL Partners and NotiCel, among other companies, was affected
by Hurricane Maria: its strong winds destroyed some of the floors and disabled others.
However, according to Charlie Hamilton, the building's owner, this structure was one of the
first to recover after the disaster.
Hamilton and his work team began rebuilding the Caribe Office Building just days after the
hurricane passed, and when they finally recovered, it was reopened for business.
But the entrepreneur found it was not enough to just reopen the building.
'We want our building to be a beacon for others in San Juan,' Hamilton told NotiCel.
Hamilton, along with SOL Partners founder Mark Curry, started planning a way to be able to
inspire others.
Hamilton explained that, in seeking to 'do something small to inspire Puerto Ricans,' this was
how they got the idea to put up the flag, which complements the mosaic adorning the building.
Nonetheless, the administrator believed they needed something more to encourage Puerto
Ricans. 'We need strength, we need stamina to be able to rebuild our country stronger than
ever,' asserted the Caribe Office Building owner. And that is why Curry added the word
FUERZA.
'It is an affirmation of our team's strength and the resilience of the Puerto Rican people. No
matter the challenge, we will overcome, and become stronger than we already were,' stated Edward Figueroa, manager of the SOL Partners call center.
Las Brisas Property Management has procured ammenities for its tenants in the Caribe, seeking to overcome the day-to- day adversities left by Hurricane Maria.
