Club Curry's fundraiser returns to benefit the San Jorge Children's Foundation

On Saturday, June 29, Club Curry will host its third annual fundraising gala, benefiting the San Jorge Children's Foundation and taking place in the San Juan Hotel. The event advances Club Curry's mission of supporting local non-profit organizations through a combination of public awareness, community support and fundraising initiatives.

All proceeds from the gala's ticket sales and live auction will be leveraged for a variety of medical services that the San Jorge Children's Foundation provides to its young patients, such as psychological and psychiatric therapies, medical evaluations, anesthesia for reconstructive surgeries, and specialized studies.

In keeping with its tradition, the event is organized and executed by the Mark E. Curry Family Foundation (MECFF), a non-profit entity. Its founder Mark E. Curry, an entrepreneur and president at SOL Partners, headquartered in Puerto Rico, founded the charity with the goal of supporting and improving the quality of life for the local communities' most vulnerable children and their families.

'Thanks to the generous support of those who have attended Club Curry events, we have been able to provide medical equipment to streamline surgeries and offer an even wider array of medical services to the more than 900 patients at the San Jorge Children's Foundation. We are extremely proud to be able to count on Mark Curry and his foundation as one of our main partners and appreciate all they do for our community and the children who require specialty care,' said Stephanie Moore, executive director for the San Jorge Children's Foundation.

The theme for this year's Club Curry soirée is 'Curry Carnaval,' and the ambiance will pay tribute to Brazilian culture. The décor of the hotel space, together with the suggested attire, will be inspired by the bright and striking colors of this South American festival.

'We are thrilled to be hosting our third Club Curry event in Puerto Rico and excited to once again support the San Jorge Children's Foundation, which does so much to help children and families in our community,' said Mark Curry. 'Children are our future, and they deserve a quality of life that allows them to be successful and pursue their dreams. We want everyone who attends this event to have an amazing experience for an outstanding cause and to know their support and generosity will have an enormous impact on hundreds of children in the care of the San Jorge Children's Foundation.'

Since its foundation in 2010, Club Curry has executed memorable events for all kinds of non-profit organizations: from organizations that protect domestic violence victims, to programs that provide guidance for at-risk youth. Club Curry celebrations have taken place in three cities: Las Vegas, Kansas City, and San Juan.

Puerto Rico has been the host of two previous editions: 'Curry in Wonderland' in 2016 and 'A Night at Gilligan's Island' in 2017.

The San Jorge Children's Foundation is an entity founded in 1995 with a mission to provide a better quality of life to children and youths who come from low-income homes and who have been diagnosed with cancer, malformations, or catastrophic diseases. In 2018, they covered over 6,200 medical services to more than 900 patients, from newborns to 21-year-olds. The Foundation also has a School Program that offers services across the island, with 11 certified teachers that guide patients throughout their sickness and recovery – at home or at the hospital – so that they can carry on with their studies without interruption.
