Popular, Inc. anunci\u00f3 que su Junta de Directores ha designado a Ignacio Alvarez como presidente y principal oficial de operaciones de Popular. Alvarez se reportar\u00e1 directamente a Richard Carri\u00f3n, principal oficial ejecutivo y presidente de la Junta de Directores.<\/p>\n

Por otro lado, Javier D. Ferrer ha sido nombrado vicepresidente ejecutivo, ‘General Counsel’; y principal oficial legal de Popular. Ferrer tambi\u00e9n ser\u00e1 secretario de la Junta de Directores. Los nombramientos ser\u00e1 efectivos el 1 de octubre.<\/p>\n

Alvarez lleva trabajando en Popular desde junio del 2010 como vicepresidente ejecutivo y principal oficial legal. Antes de unirse a Popular, Alvarez era socio fundador en Pietrantoni M\u00e9ndez <><>& Alvarez LLC. Alvarez tambi\u00e9n ha sido nombrado director y presidente de Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Popular North America, Inc. y Banco Popular North America, efectivo el 1 de octubre.\/p<\/p>\n
